Hello Mark, I looked on e-bay and there are a few bottles that are all 6.5oz. The prices range from 6.00 to 149.00 I believe that they are older than your bottle. There is also some advertising signs that date back to 1927 era. It says it was a chocolate drink. I am giving you this information from what I read on e-bay and I have no way to prove the information to be factual. Nice find and hopefully someone else can assist you better. Kevin....

Thank Kevin. I am finding bits and pieces myself. It is such a cool looking soda. It is my 2nd Decco. They are so unique, I can't imagine why they would throw them away after drinking them unless the market was flooded with them at the time. Were Deccos originally manufactured for collectables?

Hi Mark, There was a huge conversation about art deco bottles a while back. If you go to the top of the page where it says enter search phrase type in ( what are art deco bottles ) and open the third thread down and you will have plenty to read about art deco bottles. Good luck and nice bottle!!! I am still confused as far as what bottles are art deco myself.... Kevin..

Great reading Kevin. My question now would be, being these types of bottles do have some similarities, what are these sodas called. I assumed Deco was the proper terminology. I am a newbie and I am familiarizing myself with the Embossed, ACLs, paper label, etc... Do these "deco" types actually have a category or group name?

Mark, I am as confused as you are !!! I have several bottles I considered art deco bottles but after reading that thread I'm not sure which ones are really art deco!! All I know is that I have a lot of nice bottles with designs that I like and I really don't care what they are called.........!!!! Just keep collecting bottles that you like and do all the research you can on them and don't worry about what category they are considered to be in. Have you found me a Cleveland Taka-Kola yet ? Thanks, Kevin...

I just picked up a Farmville Va. Taka-Kola this week that I have never seen before and I live 25 miles from there. I was told that the Cleveland Taka-Kola bottles may have been a paper label bottle and not the 8 sided bottle. Thanks for looking for me and I have a few Ohio bottles I think you may be interested in. Thanks, Kevin....

The "R" mark was somewhat common and often associated with Anchor Hocking but nothing is certain without the logo. In this case I'd agree that the 58 would be the year and well past Deco and even Deco style. I personally don't see enough to even associate it with the word. Cool bottle just the same though, I like the heavy embossing. Was the link this? http://www.antique-bottle...a-bottles-m625109.aspx
