Hey y'all! I found this amazing treasure last night digging an old homestead from the early 1900's in Western Montana. It appears to be a beauty compact, most likely for powder or blush, that also has a little finding at the top to wear on a chain (I'm assuming). While I was cleaning it up a bit I found this amazingly preserved marking on the inside, and I was wondering if anyone can help me ID it? I know this is a bottle or glass, but I figured if anyone could help me find some more information on this item, it would be this community! Thanks y'all, can't wait to hear what you have to say.

Love it but don't know much about it. Hardest part is trying to decipher the monogram. All those intertwined letters can be hard to figure out. Here is a link to copper and brass manufacturers. Hope this helps.

Thank you, ROBBYBOBBY64 > appreciate the lead, definitely struggling to figure out the monogram but I just emailed a museum of makeup that takes inquiries and helps people ID different pieces so I'm feeling hopeful!

Could it have been used for tobacco ie snuff or pipe
That's what I was thinking, it looks a lot deeper than any makeup compact I've seen before. And I don't remember seeing a compact meant to go on a chain either. But snuffboxes were about that deep and did go on chains.
