I found a stash of bottles under my grandpas house today. I have some from the late 1800s that were in this pile. I'm still working on identifying them. I'm new to bottles, I kind of got into it from metal detecting. Anyway, I have these two bottles with just a hint of paper labels left on them. I figure it's a long shot, but maybe someone will recognize the designs. I'm from Michigan, in the Grand Rapids area, and a lot of the bottles are from the area and have actually said Grand Rapids on them. First one: [attachment=1-1.jpg][attachment=1-2,jpg.jpg] What I've been able to make out and I thought would be enough to find something is:"Highland Chief" with the logo of the guy in a kilt holding a sword. It says 'REG U.S. PAT OFF' around the logo. And '1 fluid pint'I guess I'm guessing, but I've convinced myself it says "Pure Apple Cider Vinegar". Cannot figure out what the main brand is though. The second:[attachment=2-1,jpg.jpg] Does anyone know their whiskey? It's a bad picture for sure. I went and rubbed a little dirt off after the picture and I can tell it says 'Bourbon' and then 'WHISKEY' below it. Seems like enough of the stylized brand name is showing that someone might know what it is, but I have no idea. They probably aren't anything, but research is half the fun. Figuring out what you've got. But I'm stumped on these. Thanks for any help you're able to provide!
