A little while ago I bought this Orange Crush bottle at an antique store for $2, which I thought was pretty cheap. When I picked it up I noticed it looked different than the others I've seen before. There were quite a few of the 1920s 6 oz Orange Crush bottles that were for sale in the store for 30-50 dollars and they we're the ones that I'm familiar with. On the one that I bought the differences are that instead of having two diamonds on both sides it only has one on the front. On the front side it says PATD AUG 22 1921 ORANGE CRUSH BOTTLE 6 FL OZS. The embossing is also very weak and doesn't stick out as far. All of the other bottles for sale in different booths had the "Crushy" logo on it but this one does not. At first I thought maybe it was a reproduction and that's why it was so cheap but I couldn't find any mention of reproductions of these bottles on the internet and it looks original to me. I've also never seen any Orange Crush bottle that had the word bottle on it. The bottle also has a crack near the neck. What do you guys think?

Looks like yours is one of the early (though not quite earliest) Canadian ones. Strange that they were asking $30-50 for the other ones, not many Orange Crushes are worth that and it looks like you got one of the better ones anyway. I assume it must be one of those antique stores which sell items from multiple sellers on consignment. There's another thread on your bottle here: https://www.antique-bottles.net/threads/the-canadian-wards-crush-bottles.697475/

Hi StepBack... your bottle is uncommon.. it is the Canadian version of the Ward's bottles, described on p.27 and illustrated on p.28 of my book. Ivan has done a wonderful job in his description and pictures which he refers to. You certainly picked up an uncommon, almost rare O.C. bottle. Way to go....

My book is $50.00 (Canadian) which at today's rates, is about $37.00 American. That price includes insurance, tracking and the postage which usually runs about $20. If you email me at mrosman@sympatico.ca we both avoid Ebay charges. Thanks and hope to hear... Michael
