I have a bottle purchased from Ebay that I am confused about. It was touted as a poison, I really liked it but wasn't buying it for the poison angle.

Embossed:

AB Spink/Drysalter, Leeds
It is Aqua and ribbed.

Now my question. A Drysalter is someone who cured meats and did Pickling. Leeds is obviously the town name. I have seen others (From the UK and AUS) list this as a poison. Could thaty be correct and I am missing something here?

Any ifo would be appreciated.

Comercial Drysalters some times used formaldehyde to preserve color and freshness in meat. It is still used by longline fishermen and longhaul shrimpers { from personal experiance on boats } To hold color and as a perservitive. Formaldehyde it toxic and dangerous if not handled properly.
