Wonkapete- I don't now much about the Dossin's bottles other than they were a major Pepsi franchise out in Michigan. The only Dossin's bottles I can recall seeing are the 8 ouncers like yours. These bottles aren't super common, but they do come up on ebay with some regularity. If you take the time to sift through the hundreds of Pepsi listings you can usually find one.
I did a google search on Dossin's Pepsi and came up with this:
I will keep it until I get another then it's yours if you want it. I am going to load a bunch more sodas and blobs probaly tomorrow.I am going to put a rare 1st type Chaser on if you don't have you will like. It's got on it "for hangovers" it a early Memphis . It has some fade but it's rare and I never see the early one. bob
WOW! Talk about bringing an old thread back to life....The Grand Pop Bottling Company is the forerunner to the present day G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers Inc. G&J stands for Gross and Jarson, the last names of the 2 buddies that owned Grand Pop as partners and became Pepsi bottlers in the late 30's. Today the family still runs the company and owns 7 pepsi-Cola franchises in Ohio and Kentucky. Athens, Columbus, Zanesville, Portsmouth, Ripley, and Hamilton, Ohio along with Lexington, Kentucky. I have worked for them for over 33 years and have passed several Grand Pop bottles on to the family for their collection. Here is a You Tube link about their Columbus, Ohio facility showing a couple of the Gross family and Kaplan family. Kaplan is the married name of the Jarson side of the partnership. I hope you enjoy.
I saw 3 of the "Grand Pop" Pepsi acl's today. 2 in near mint, and 1 in okay shape. I'm regretting not buying one. I though they were over priced, but they are listed in Ayer's guide @ $275 & $225 depending on which year you have. I kinda thought this was a mistake...there is currently one on ebay for around $20.
