Many people who post here seem to have a hard time making the picture file small enough.
I use a free (old version) and very easy to use program that you can download easily.

FastStone Capture 5.3

Just google the name above and you will have multiple choices for download.

AGAIN: FREE, EASY TO FIND AND DOWNLOAD, EASY TO USE

I find that the program will size the file to under the limit for posting here 95 times out of a hundred. For those other five it is simple to redo.

George

Thanks, I use FastStone Resizer but an even older version (2.6) that still works with XP. I like the "watermark" feature. I was told that Irfan had watermark too but I never got it to work.
It seams every time a program gets updated it tends to start failing in old versions of Windows®.
I'd like to go Linux sometime and get some nice open source stuff. It may happen soon but a lot of that is also Windows®.
There is very little I need but still so much that some sites don't like anything but MS for.[] I get that from the dual boot and keep having to swap over from one to another.

I use XP also. Try 5.3. I think that 5.3 was the newest free one that I could use with XP, but it has been a couple of years so I do not remember clearly.
