I'm sure I saw somthing very much like it on my Mom's dressing table back in the early 1960s. Here is a photo of what I know is a fingernail polish bottle circa 1940. It is 3 1/2". Just subtract that long "gripper" type neck (you would not want to spill it on the rug) that yours has and they are about the same [sm=rolleyes.gif].
Polish, remover, shoe polish, salad dressing, engine oil, shark meat!!! All you'll keep getting, I would say, is guesses; no matter where you post it...[>:]
