Hello All! New to the site! Im a lover of mason jars. Dont know a whole lot about em, not too big of a spender on em. Just like to look at em. [:)]

I have a few reproduction jars and a few of the real deals.. I recently bought this off Ebay.. it didnt say anything about it being a reproduction in the listing.. but was wondering if it was? Didnt pay a whole lot for it. I wasnt sure if it was because of the obvious stain or because it wasnt the real deal? Either way I love it just the same! anyways heres a few pics. maybe you could help me out?
Thanks so Much!
Kelli

Hey Kelli, Welcome to the forum. Your jar looks real to me. The color is not dark enough to be a fantisy color but more SCA{sun colored amythist}and it looks dug.

Thanks! I also have one more question.. I bought this jar as a reproduction on Ebay awhile back. My sister Emailed me with links to Ebay about how this same exact jar (the real ones) were selling for $400 to $500. I honestly cant remember what I paid for this. I think it was around $20. I have noticed there are no honey/yellow jars on Ebay for sale now. Do jars become popular at certain times?? How much do you think this repro. would sell for now?
Thanks
Kelli

It's hard to say with repos. One day they are in demand and the next day they aren't worth anything. There are collectors who collect repos and anything new that pops up they go after.

I don't keep track of Ebay like I used to but I know they have seasonal trends. Late fall till Christmas and after tax time seem to be a good selling times. The summer is vacation time and sales go up and down but mostly down.{Buyers Market}

Some collectors consider repo fruit jars as worthless but the always sell for around $20 so you got a fair deal.
