hi everyone, dug this a couble of weeks ago. decided to remove rusted lids off some of my bottles and clean them. this bottle is 3 1/2" tall,base is 1 3/4" square, lip opening 1 1/4" across. bottom embossed S&D, 83, 2. the lip is very rought and uneven, the threads to not go all the way around the top. at both the corner where the seams are there is a 1/2" space with no threads. very crude. i hope it shows in the scan. any information on this style bottle, or dating would be greatley appreciated. thanks, rhona

RHONA...S&D is Sharp & Dohme. a Chemical Company outta Baltimore....(methinks)....bottle dates 1880-1910...it was probably a pill or powders container. Not very much value tho...
There's a Thread in Poisons about this Company...
