Well that has to be the shallowest ink bottle I have ever seen! It looks like you'd pour some ink in the well and dip a quill pen in it.

I don't believe that's how it was used but I don't know. I'll be interested to hear what others think.

Wonder if it is just a decroative stand for an ink bottle to set into . After stating that , I feel kind of foolish lol .

The one pictured on Etsy looks like a single piece to me, not two seperate pieces, does it look like yours is broken off???

I found another one on ebay and ask the seller if it is all one piece i let you know what i find out.
