Hello all:

Got out today with my cousin. He pulled out a Prov. Beer, 2 john Wyeths, 2 Duffy's, some inks, etc. Forgot to take the camera with me grrr. Here is what I brought home. That pipe is real long. Thought that little cast iron pan was neat. How much for the stoneware sugar top?

Another view What an idiot ! ! Must be wearing those new smarty pants of mine. WOOF ! Yeah it says Harvard. Umm common sense sometimes. If I missed this...how many bottles do I throw away cause of what I think I read? Noticing your own faults is humbling. LOL

Thought it was another John Wyeths. Was almost gonna chuck it. Must be a Wyeths dump haha. Then my cousin said...."That one is alot different, notice the top, embossing etc." Oh well, are these any better than the Wyeths? ? I think it is a King PureMalt Beer. No real value on these either grrr. Oh well.

Found this on ebay. I also found a Harvard Bottle in amber but the top was busted. Much the same as this one. Maybe mine is a Harvard bottle. Your thoughts. Which one is older ? ? Madpaddla

here is some funny info from researching the Harvard Brewing Company 1893. Hope to get more of these bottles ....anyone know the value?

Although the brewery sent out 3,500 invitations, over
8,000 people showed up to Payton Street on the hot day of the
event. One spectator to the opening related that, "Something
like 100 kegs of lager were consumed during the afternoon. In
the early part of the afternoon the respectable invitees could
get up to the drinks but despite the efforts of the police under
Sergeant Webster the bum element crept in and secured
prime positions up front where they drank till they couldn't
stand up. In the brewery are iron stairs. These soon got
slippery and all gents with unsteady legs went down various
flights with their legs in the air. After a while the bums became so obnoxious and jaggy that the police made a final effort and
cleared them out quite effectively about 5 o'clock. When the
bums were kicked out they lined Ayer City highways in all
directions, straggled across fields, sang, fought and blessed the
brewery."

That there is the reason why we dig. Find a bottle we don't know..research it...I'll be telling that story for years. Digging is great. Madpaddla
