Deep Cobalt Western Soda - 1870's 80's, applied lip smooth base. Embossed "NAPA - star - WOODS - star - SODA" and on obverse "NATURAL - MINERAL WATER - T.W.F. - A.G.T.". Some case wear and small dings, a small nick on the lip, some light stain. Pretty good dug condition. Only real issue I see is a star annealing check in the base. It is on a dimple of glass in the center of the base on the inside of the bottle. It does not come all the way through to the outside. Please see pictures. Asking $350.00 o.b.o. free shipping

FWIW, Peck & Audie Markota lists this as RARE. I, being a western bottle collector - retired, am unfamiliar with it. I think it's a sleeper. Wish I were still collecting such items, I would be all over it.

Thanks Jim, There are only a few known undamaged. and I mean count on half a hand. Most that turn up have very heavy case wear and lots of dinks, cracks or chips. The glass is very soft and they are next to impossible to find without annealing cracks. One in Mint condition is worth 700 - 1000. This one is in very good condition for these bottles but not mint. The annealing crack in the base is in a very good spot and stable, but its cuts the price in half!

That one has although very nice has a pot stone with a radiation in it. Its only 1/8 of and inch but thats what brought the price down... I expect the seller was hoping to get a little more for as they sold the better of the two they have...

heres one in dug condition with a big radiated potstone and an annealing check right on the front that went for 325 plus the hammer and shipping, worse condition then mine I'd say

http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/9384996

another went for over 700 with a little nick in the lip and dug condition being the only issues a few months ago on ebay but doesn't turn up in the searches anymore. Ive got a good price on mine I believe, but I always appreciate the feedback

I dug one of these about 14 years ago.It was pristine,as it looked like it just came out of the glass works. It sold for $475.00.I hated to get rid of it but needed some cash at the time.
