I have an old, probably, beer bottle and I checked the seams on the side but they seem to go to where the bottle narrows and then they disappear. Does this mean it was "polished" to make it look like an old bottle? I haven't taken any photos yet and am not sure if I can get good ones but I thought maybe this was common and someone would be familiar with it. Thanks!

a picture would help, but when the seams cut off towards the top that usually means that it is pre 1900, i wouldn't really no unless i saw a picture of it

I've tried to get pics of the seam on the beer bottle. The seam ends about 1 inch from the top. There's a 6 on the bottom.

Sheila,

1890-1910's. Unembossed common beer bottle. Unfortunately not worth much at all. Keep the questions and the pics coming.

Here's another pic. The bottle is clear, the room must have been colored! LOL

The seams are on the narrow sides. On one of the wide sides there's a bubble. There's nothing on the bottom. The bottom does appear to have been put on separately, there's a seam around the bottom.

Sheila,

That bottle is some sort of medicine. Possibly prescription. The mold seams around the base are caused by the use of a cup mold. This was highly popular in the 1890's to 1910's also.

Nice looking bottle but again without embossing it isn't a highly collectable one if you are looking to sell.
