Here we have an average, nice, fairly clean example of the very common 8-sided J.N. Gerdes SF mineral water. Currently at $115.00 and change. Um, what am I missing about this one that makes it this "valuable"? Even has some noticeable internal haze...wow.[:-]

Interesting. I have literally dig dozens of those things from SF privies and never asked, or got, more'n 35 bucks for 'em. Chalk it up to eBay "exuberance".

Unless you find a Gerdes in a rare color or with some noticeable crudity, they mostly look about the same. I bought my example from Judi M. years ago for $12.50. This was let's see -- around 25 years ago. I've yet to see another Gerdes that inspired me to upgrade.

The only way I could justify $150+ for that bottle is if I was lucky enough to be the seller [:D]. Never sold anything on eBay - maybe I should start!! Ron

I emailed the seller and he was as surprised (pleasantly) as any of us at the final bid price.

Another common S.F. soda brings a record(?) price?
A beautiful example but $200+ worth for an aqua soda?

Seriously tho, most my stuff like that is 9.99 out of the gate, but it can land where ever it wants!
