Small teal green bottle bottom-help please

Found this 1.25” bottle bottom today. Very unusual size and color. Any info on what it was used for and when would be so appreciated.

Looks like the base to a small utility bottle. If unembossed, sold in bulk to anyone who could fit their product inside and wrap a paper label on it (quack medicines, etc.) May have been embossed. Medicine most likely.

Thank you so much! - Not sure, but I think there may be a "2" on bottom. Posting additional picture here. Any guesses on time period?

There's so much wear it's tough to tell.. that might be a pontil scar?? Pontils were used up to about 1865. I wouldn't date this bottle after 1900 but without seeing more it's tough to say.

Try some image searches on variations of phrase: "antique smelling salts bottle" to see if you can spot approximate same color as well as size in round (cylindrical) bottles. I know that quite a few were produced in the same size range, though most were a shade of green that I would call Emerald Green. Contrariwise, I've seen photos of teal green, but usually in a different shape.

Okay, so my piece is definitely more emerald than teal. I looked up smelling salts, and something like this (same diameter) fits the bill. Thanks for all of the help on this one!
