Found this 1.25” bottle bottom today. Very unusual size and color. Any info on what it was used for and when would be so appreciated.

Update to original post:
Found this 1.25” diameter bottle bottom today. Very unusual size and color. Possibly a “2” on bottom? Any info on what it was used for and when would be so appreciated.

Nearly impossible to tell - looks like it's been in the ocean for some time. Based purely on the color I'd go with early 1900s, but that's purely a guess.
It's hard to tell if that's truly a '2' on the bottom, or simply an indented portion of the base from when it was made.
