The creek is low and warm so i went out today with the snorkel. Found this cool mini Ayer's, is this just a small size? or a sample size or what? The santa head appers to be lead or pewter and it is ingraved on both sides. The other side is the back of santa's head. Anyone know what it is? The camara is out of batteries... so i will post some better pics as soon as it charges.

Nice finds!
Does the bottle say Ayer's Pills? If so, that's the normal size.

Damn that arrowhead is tiny! Its called a bird point, very nice find! I see some flakes too, your in a good area for ancient artifact hunting. That little Ayer's bottle is sweet, I've never seen that version. NICE BIRD!

Yeah a lot of the points from around here are pretty small. The larger flake has some work on it and the obsidian flakes are not to commen around these parts so i tend to pick em up. Anyone have a date on the bird? Here are a few from over the years..

Thought alot about you and battling those bricks. Yeah that stuff is from a good era. I would go to that spot as much as possible. Thanks for sharing. If the area appears untouched, I would put it around the 1890's. The other stuff appears newer. Great finds all the same.

Great finds Niko, What we commonly refer to as arrowheads are actually points. I went to an Archaeological Field day that they were having localy here. I learned that these are called bifaced points. A good site to learn about these points is;

Enjoy.
