I'll start with what I think is the oldest coke bottle I currently possess, which was inside an old 25 gal metal garbage can that was slap full of bottles! Most of the others I've stumbled across and dug up or found crawling under houses for work! I'll post pics then I have a few questions:

On this one, the goog always goes to hutches or to straight sided amber w/diamond label, but difficult to find much info on this squared fellow! I can make out the patent date, well first one, decent chip covers yr on the end date: Oct 3, 1916- Nov 14, 19.....

These aren't as old as the leadoff bottle, but just trying to figure out this whole "Christmas" definition?? I know the patent date is Dec 25th, but where would it be located? Same as the previous square bottle?

The "December 25, 1923" date would be where your bottles have either "Pat'd D-105xxx" or "U S Patent Office".

The first one isn't really a Coca Cola bottle per se, it was used for other products bottled by the local Coke franchise. They're hard to date without date codes since they were used for a long time. They overlapped with the hobbleskirts for decades so they don't fit into the standard Coke bottle timeline, but yours does look like it's an earlier one.

Oh OK well I guess that makes more sense, as to why I'm not seeing the square one while searching coke bottles! I didn't take pics of all sides, but has "property of Coca-Cola" underneath soda water, but you're saying it may have hade other coke flavors inside? Not just Coca-Cola?

It has some other engraving, maybe a date code, embossed on it somewhere if I'm not mistaken, but with the number of chips & nic's on it, you get lost! Wife's grandfather dug it up on the lake I'm sure

I have a square Coca-Cola soda water bottle from the same city with the same patent date information on it. As CanadianBottles was saying, these bottles did not contain Coca-Cola. Instead, they contained flavored soda water with the bottle cap saying which flavor. I don't know what the list of possible flavors these bottles contained, but maybe someone else here knows. It's probably something like: orange, grape, lime, cherry, etc.

My bottle is also from Leesville LA. with the same double patent date. The full date inscription is: PAT. OCT. 3 1916 NOV. 14 1922.

On the bottom rim, along with the double patent date, there should be a date code. It will be very faint (barely embossed). Mine says 1188 and EG 24 overprinted with OG 25.

I don't know what the "1188" means.
I don't know why there are two different patent dates embossed on this bottle.
I don't know why the bottle has codes for two different Graham Glass glassmaking plants and two (overprinted) different dates.

EG signifies Graham Glass Company in Evansville, IN and OG signifies Graham Glass Company in Okmulgee, OK. Another Graham Glass plant was in Loogootee, IN (LG was the code for that).

Date code 24 means 1924 and date code 25 means 1925. Date codes probably mean the year the glass bottle was made, but I'm guessing that it might just mean the year the particular bottle mold used to make bottles was made.

Very similar square Coca-Cola soda water bottles had later patent dates imprinted on them (1923, 1926).
