i would like to ask the bottle collectors here a question. i enjoy collecting any bottles that i find interesting. i usally collect soda bottles. i know what what acl's are so my question is , what do you call the type soda bottles that are molded and or embossed? i find some of them to be very interesting, such as the icy-nu or the orange crush one. i like all soda bottles but these type are some of my favorites.
thanks,john

Hi John -

Usually the raised letter soda bottles are referred to as embossed bottles. They have been around since the mid-1800s till they were generally replaced by the ACLs starting in the mid 1930s. During the 1920s and 30s there were some interesting bottles made with some really nice embossing and bottle shapes.
