I always enjoyed hunting for arrowheads, spear points, and other native tools with my dad when I was a kid. Now that I am older (grown?!) I still can't help but sift through the fresh gravel beds by the creek after a flood. I've have only ever found these two points. The first was found in the Wissahickon Creek outside of Philadelphia. I estimate that this one is several thousand years old. The second was found in the dirt around a fire pit at a YMCA camp in Jackson MI. I think this one is about 1,500 years old. Of course these dates are only speculation and I am eager to have them either corrected or confirmed! Thanks for looking!

Also, got that buffalo nickel in change at work the other day. One of the few perks of working a cash register....

Nice!! thanks for sharing (nice touch adding the buff). Whats the best way to find points and such? Where inlaws live almost right on Lake Superior there are miles of walkable lakeshore/woods/trails etc... The Native Americans were mining copper up there around 3000bc.. Guy I know on MD forum was up there for college and went MD'ing and at a small park found a solid copper axehead. lying right on top of the minerock! still haven't found any points etc.

Those are really cool. I should know more about them (my great grand mother is full blooded Cherokee) but I do not. I do know they are pretty easily found around Alabama, there is actually a creek near here that they are so common in, its a tourist attraction.... of course now they probably but them in there and the real ones are probably long gone. haha

Wow. Pretty dramatic. Maybe I shouldn't have disclosed that I found mine in a city park. Probably not as big of a deal though...hmm. I guess I'll be looking over my shoulder from now on.
