Had a great jar dig last week behind a stone wall of a friends house. Some nice clean jars. The first is a mint Electric, ground lip quart.

Quart 1858 Masons with embossed shield in back, ground lip with original dug cap. I don't know much about jars, if the experts would help id these, and date them, that would be great. Hope to hear from you guys.

A couple of Ball jars. Older Ball logo on left jar - this is a nice light green color. Blue Ball mason on right.

I agree...nice jars....the World is great.....finding the correct lid should not be too hard....but the clamp may be a different story......

That light green BALLL jar is great.....nice find...

ruccello,
I don't have my book handy,so I'm going on memory[8|].
The "ELECTRIC" is a nice jar and hit's around the C-note now-a-days,but that's with the correct lid and clamp. My guess about your jar as is..25-40.
Your "MASON'S PATENT" around the $20.00 mark.
The pt,ATLAS is a common jar and only fetches a few bucks.(I use them for change and marbles).
The BALL jar is also a fairly common jar,but your BALL MASON looks like an acquired mold jar.I'm not really up on the ball jars(that's a whole chapter in itself)
I have one with that mold variation in clear(SCA) and really had no problem shelling out about $50.00 bucks for it.
Hope that helps or at least stimulates more replies. Anthony-J.

The Ball jars are nice.....my choice would be the one on the left....the light green #197.

The book lists it as $8-10 but probably could get more.... not a common color.

Hey thanks you guys, appreciate the info. Any idea on the date range for these jars? I was guessing 1890 - 1920. Does that sound about right?
