I came across this at a civil war site I know of ....

shard is from a Dyottville cylinder .... sort of a yellowish green

is it an iron pontil?

I guess I should have saved the shard

I couldn't tell where the shards were dug though .... I poked around near the sifter but didn't find anything

oh well =(

it's strange .... there didn't seem to be anything around .... oh well, guess I'll head back and grab that sifter and shard and look around closer
