stoneware advertising jug/dispenser?

The piece is 14 inches tall and 7 inches in diameter. Marked Made in England on the base. The stopper is threaded. Any information would be welcome. George

I remember seeing a similar jug on ebay a while back with an ad from a town near here. It doesn't look right, even without the new wire handle. It looks too new and the printing looks like a newspaper ad, and why would someone from Albany, NY import jugs from England when stoneware aplenty was being made in NY state at the time? I'll bet someone will have the full story on these....
