hi everone, dug this last fall, with c 1900 things. it's 4 1/2" tall, 1 3/4" across base. ther are no markings on the bottle. any ideal of date or what it caontained would be greatley appreciated, with out any marks would it have a value? thanks for looking rhona

Probably an ink, we get a few inks the same shape as that but nomaly a bit smaller, the tuppence sized ink in that shape is a bit harder to get and your one is a fair bit bigger.

I've seen them off tips from the late 1880's to about 1910. I've only ever found one or two myself though.

These bottles are called dolly blues in the UK
and contained a laundry product to whiten whites !!
found on sites 1880 to 1910
