Hi! As I near the end of my brother's collection, I
find two stoneware items and wonder if anyone has
any info on them? The bottle stands 9 3/4" high, has
embossed " J. Simonds. Bottle NotSold" and a nice
cobalt blue blob top neck. The jug stands 8 1/2" high
with a base of 5 6/16" across. The bottom has the
initials V.M. and a face, but they look modern to me.
The side has a raised swath of black or dark brown
in the glaze and it does have some light cracks on side.
Any thoughts on age, value and what they might have
held? Thanks!
