Hi Everyone
I was in a thrift store today and I came across a stoneware jug. Thre was no writing on it but it had a picture of a crown on it with a 1 in the middle of it and "Gal" on the bottom of the crown.I'm assuming this refers to the jug being a 1 gallon jug. Unfortunately I didn't have anything on me to take a picture with but I included a picture of one that I found on the internet that's exactly the same except the one in the picture has a 5 in the crown instaed of a 1. The one in the thrift store had a $15 price tag on it. Since I don't know anything about stoneware stuff I figured I'd consult the forum to see if this is a an old one and whether this is a good buy or not. There's no damage on it except for a small
chip off the lip.Any information on age and worth would be greatly appreciated.

Anthony

Those are pretty easy to find, I dug one up myself in a 1920's context.. $15 retail is not ridiculous, but not a bargain either..

Thanks for the reply Cyber. I think I'll pass on this one. I'm glad I consulted here before buying.
