I ended up with a blob beer bottle in a large lot of beers I bought the other day that is quite odd. From a few feet away it looks like a slick slug plate 1880's beer. When I looked closer, however, this bottle is machine made. Honestly this is the first blob beer from the US that I have ever seen that was machine made. Anyone have any idea about the letters on the base? The bottle appears to have been made on some early non-Owens machine as there is no Owens ring.

Wow that really is an odd one. The lettering on the base looks like the sort of thing I'd expect from a bottle from outside of North America. I wonder if it could have been made in another country for the US, or maybe for one of the US-controlled unincorporated territories like the Philippines or Puerto Rico.

Very cool! I collect New Hampshire and Texas blobs and so far as I am aware there are no machine made ones from there. I've seen some from other countries but this was the first I had run across that was clearly American. Have the ones you have seen been Owens made?

I believe this KEWANEE bottle was made by A B CO = American Bottle Co.
