Its actually very different. I haven't seen one before. It looks like the bottle is a hock wine in a three piece mold? Its possibly because the shoulder leafs of the mold were so tall the tongue was added to keep the mold better aligned.

Well, I just got back to this thread. I didn't see a reply about there being two of these key marks on this same horizontal shoulder line - but I am sure there are. The line near the heal was to make sure the glass didn't turn in the mold.

This key was to make sure the shoulder was locked in place correctly. His book shows a picture of the assembly.

Thanks Red. Yes, sorry, there definitely are two keys...one on each side. Thanks for the information. I'd be interested in getting a copy of that book. Is it available online? What is the name of the book?
