I am an electrician and work alongside ironhead's, pipe fighter's, boilermaker's, etc. I used to not mind my job too much but over the years you are forced to wear more and more ugly, heavy, useless safety equipment and there are so many safety rules a 10 minute job can take an hour. I weigh in at 109 so all day I spend tripping and falling over a safety harness, trying to balance a size large hard hat on my head without it listing off to the side and covering my ear's, etc. I would also like to say I am very good at being an electrician but more and more I spend all day trying to adjust safety equipment.
Some jobs have a look out man to warn you if safety men are around. That way you can do your job in peace.
Anyway, I was on this hospital job in 2003 and the most memorable part of the job was Dan Davis the despised, I mean the foreman, who rode everyone's *** all day. This bald headed b?tch would call individual's out in front of everyone else and ask them why they weren't getting anything done, why they were slow, why they were costing the company so much money, and so on. 2 people went nut's working there. Mike began to be a bit annoyed by the tinner's (duct work) because they had to tap their work into place with a hammer. His annoyance over time escalated to the point where he was literally foaming at the mouth. Ed began hearing voice's. It's bad enough hearing Dan Davis all day bitching about youre work, now voice's in you're head are doing it too. Just wondered if anyone else had encountered situation's like this.
