I am an electrician and work alongside ironhead's, pipe fighter's, boilermaker's, etc. I used to not mind my job too much but over the years you are forced to wear more and more ugly, heavy, useless safety equipment and there are so many safety rules a 10 minute job can take an hour. I weigh in at 109 so all day I spend tripping and falling over a safety harness, trying to balance a size large hard hat on my head without it listing off to the side and covering my ear's, etc. I would also like to say I am very good at being an electrician but more and more I spend all day trying to adjust safety equipment.

Some jobs have a look out man to warn you if safety men are around. That way you can do your job in peace.

Anyway, I was on this hospital job in 2003 and the most memorable part of the job was Dan Davis the despised, I mean the foreman, who rode everyone's *** all day. This bald headed b?tch would call individual's out in front of everyone else and ask them why they weren't getting anything done, why they were slow, why they were costing the company so much money, and so on. 2 people went nut's working there. Mike began to be a bit annoyed by the tinner's (duct work) because they had to tap their work into place with a hammer. His annoyance over time escalated to the point where he was literally foaming at the mouth. Ed began hearing voice's. It's bad enough hearing Dan Davis all day bitching about youre work, now voice's in you're head are doing it too. Just wondered if anyone else had encountered situation's like this.

I'm a union plumber for over 25 years now and when I started we had radios on the job, hardly ever wore hardhats and even went to the bar and tipped a few at lunch. After seeing some horrific accidents that could have been prevented over the years I now appreciate all the safety measures in place and the zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol on the job. If things take a little longer to complete I'm fine with it as long as everyone gets to go home at night with all the body parts they arrived with in the morning.

I don't have any tolerance for any foreman who acts like a jackass, I've been in fistfights with a few and been 'laid off' by a few. A well run job can be a pleasure to go to everyday, but it can suck when you have an idiot running it...

You sound like a man's man e-package. Good for you.

I noticed you and joesmarbles who know's about sheeple's were the only one's who replied. That must mean that no one else in the U.S is being driven crazy by their job. That's a good thing.

If no one else on this forum is being driven crazy by their job, it can only mean one of two things.
They have a wonderful job and a rosie future - or

They don't have a job.

I've been retired for some time but back in the days I had a Sgt. who was a real loudmouth A hole who always busted everyones stones. I took him aside one midnight shift and had a heart to heart with him, told him that I would cover his butt and do my job but only if he stopped acting like an As. wipe and left me alone. Never had a problem with him from that day on. Sometimes you just got to stand up for yourself and what the heck I had nothing to lose, what were they going to do, Put me on midnights![:)][:)]

Don't get me wrong. I am not blaming people because they have no jobs, unless they buy Japanese cars because the mass media tolde them Japanese cars were somehow better. The jobs are oversea's. Reagan, clinton, bush, obama keep sending job's oversea's because apparently they want to lift poor countries up. They kind of did that - but for example, Chinese cannot afford a house that they built working as construction workers. Therefore they have ghost towns all over China. Economy all over the world so screwed up I don't even know where to start. I don't mean to be negative. Politician's in U.S. sold us out. Economy in third world nations was not helped because their governments ended up with all our money. The general population still don't have a pot to throw water in or a window to throw it out of.

So how's that free trade working out for you?

Hi Suzanne, Hooray for you!!!!!!!!!!! Why haven't more replied?????? Truth hurts their ears and shakes them to the bone with fear. Most are buried with the distractions that the PTB want them to be distracted with. You know the drill, you can have all the drugs you want, all the porn you want and all the booze you want as long as you don't pay attention to what we are doing.

Tens of thousands if not millions around the world are on the verge of starvation and suicide or freezing to death this winter without any means to stave it off, thanks to the decisions of a few greedy bastards!. To the dismay of a great many what happens in Europe and the middle east will be visited upon them in the not too distant future. Keep doing what you're doing and best wishes.....Joe

I am seventy one years old and have never seen the planet in worse shape, not much I can do about it anyway, I am retired so I do not have a crap boss. I have worked for a few in the past, you just have to either set them straight or find another job. I was a union representative for the Operating Engineers Union for a lot of years, employers do not want to pay you a fair wage or give you fair benefits, they want it all. The Greedy banks, politicians, and the wealthy 1% own the world, and they do not care about anything except their lifestyles and their bottom line. YOU are not going to change a thing in YOUR lifetime and neither is anybody else, no matter how you vote, finance your life, work, play or any other activity you try. SO JUST suck it up and go dig or find a few good bottles, and leave this site for bottle fun............

Thanks Andy, Thanks Andy, Thanks Andy except for one small thing, don't just dig bottles, don't just dig that hole and be distracted, teach your children and your grand children what is happening so that they may have a chance to do well instead of being victims. Teach your children and your grandchildren so that they may not be victims, there are far too many victims already.....Joe
