Swirled Red Amethyst Pontiled Decanter

I recently acquired this decanter although I have not been able to identify it, or the GI pattern in books or web searches, including American Glass. Any thoughts on this piece would be appreciated, thanks.

It's a beautiful piece of glass but in my opinion, not very old, 20th century. Of course, I would reserve the right to change my mind if I had it in hand. The stopper, pontil scar, base, lead me to this speculation.

Thanks for the input. I'd be interested to hear what about the pontil and stopper look modern to you. My purchase was a dubious one though, just curious about others' input. Thanks
