Tall Chero-Cola swirl

I can't seem to find out much about this bottle. According to Cheromike, at some time the company tried streamlining the six ounce Chero-Cola swirl bottle in order to get 30 in a case.

This one is from Phenix City, Ala., and there is supposed to be another of these skinny Cheros from Spartanburg, S.C.

This bottle is 8 1/2" tall, and there appears to be a very slight difference in the size of the slugplate.

Can anyone help with a little more history on these bottles?

That's the first time I've seen one. I wonder if this was around the time of the tall soda waters.
