I don't have a photo, but I have an ink like the one in Covill's book that has "The Fry Art Co. New York" embossed on it. It's clear, 1-5/16 square by 2-5/8 tall.
There doesn’t seem to be much info on the ‘net about this company. All I can gather is that the company existed from the late 1800’s to around 1920 or so. I’ve seen ads from 1899, 1906 and 1911. Marshall Fry, Jr. and Howard J. Fry (died 1921) were involved (relation unknown). It also seems that the company may have moved at some point (from 36 West 34th Street to 11 East 22nd to 41, and again to 43 West 25th Street) somewhere between 1899 and 1911, staying in New York. So I can date the bottle to around the turn of the century, but that’s about all.
I'll try to post a photo soon. Any other info would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Neenerz
