Found this cool bottle partly exposed. Quite amazed it survived the equipment.

Found a little pocket with a few bottles but most were slicks and commons scattered around. Really hard to pick and dig with all this construction work. everything is tossed and turned and pushed and smashed! []

The round bottom Grant soda has a Ameican look to it, but I could be wrong.

There was a J. B. Grant on Maui between 1884 and 1890. This would match the age of the bottle, but this is no smoking gun.

I found a newspaper article mentioning him in 1884 and an 1890 direcory listing.

I find alot of mentions of a J.B. Grant on Kauai as a Post Master and a member of the Kauai Kodak Klub in the late 1880-90's...
