That is an awesome find!

Looked like cooling fractures in the insulator, not really damage. But a picture can't show it all. If the annealing lines was all the insulator had in means of damage, that may have been a steal for a nearly mint threadless Tillotson!

Well MuddyMO , to satisfy my curiosity, today I contacted the 2 other guys who were with the finder of the insulator. ( The finder does not have the internet so I cannot email him ) . Both said at 1st, before it was cleaned it looked like it was cracked but after it was cleaned, they agreed that it had manufactures defects in it and it was not cracked. Good call muddymo. FYI : The new owner is not from Nova Scotia , it is now in California.
