Not sure what causes those V's but I see them exclusively on machine made bottles, especially early UK-made machine made bottles, which I suspect this is.

That very thought crossed my mine also. I just don't know British bottles well. That includes Canadian made. Maybe another possibility? Thanks for the reply.

I would say it's machine made...
In both your pictures of the crown top it looks like I see a seam going up the side.
Early bottling machines were crude and produced bottles with many defects.
Cool bottle... Now go find the one with embossing.
