My question is about tumbling. Are most people tumbling their own bottles? What is the best tumbling machine. I have a lot of bottles and some bottle could really use it.

Some people build their own; most seem to send them out.

Baby Oil will hide much staining, but it leaves bottles oily.

I have used oil, but for better results is tumbling best.

In my opinion, unless you plan on doing a LOT of it, the cost is prohibitive. Besides the machine itself you have the cutting & polishing material which is not cheap. The upside is that if you are good you can do it for others and defray expenses.
