Unidentifiable jar or not?

Greetings everyone I went to an estate sale listed in the local pennysaver and was able to find many nice finds. The jar below is one of the finds i made. I picked it up cause i was just curious to find out more about it when i got to the computer. So i got to the computer and well jst going by the markings on the bottom i am stumped. Any idea to identifying this jar and pherhaps the history of so would be much appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Hey Altom,
The bottom says Wheaton. This is a modern company that made reproductions. Sometimes they still have some value but certainly not as much as the real article.

Thank you for the info there ,apparently im still learning but all in good fun. Hopefully i will find some more exact info on what this jar is called and what it was for initially.

Jar is more then likely worth 5-10.00 hope you didnt pay more

These also came with an old style lid and I believe they were part of the 'Grandma Wheaton's" paper labeled jelly jars that started in the 1970's...
