I hope someone here may be able to recognise this bottle. I have spent a couple hours researching on the net and have found NOTHING. I will start with a written description.Height-7.75" Base- 3" Weight - 15 0zs. Color - Amber"Duraglas" on bottom of both sides. Dimpled bottom with number 9, Duraglas MM dating 1954 to present ("I" inside an "O" No Diamond) Number 0 (I think) and bottom number 1. Under that reads E 1595. Now, what has me stumped are the two "knobs" just below the lip. Appears to have possibly been for some sort of bail closure but it also has threads. My guess is leaning toward some sort of medicine bottle. Anyone have any ideas?

Hello,Stippling can often make base codes hard to read but Duraglas didn't kick in until around 1940 so that's a start. As far as the "knobs" go. I'd think they were for alignment into some fitting, maybe like a soap dispenser. Push in and turn to lock.

Can you give us a picture straight down from the top to get a better idea of the "knobs"? I think Eric is on the right track although I cannot think of the application. I don't believe I've seen such an animal. Jim

The knurled bottom is quite newer method oif making., The mold line study should tell us if it was made in the neckring, or a special mold top slide opening device. Interesting for some study goal,. RED Matthews

Saw one of these yesterday in an antique mall, but all that was on the base was an N in a square off to the left and a number towards the right, no stippling. I have no idea, but it just reminds me of a bleach bottle.
