Paid way too much for a bunch of old bottles and a few insulators… here is a picture of one of them that I have no clue how to research. I got two of these in the deal and put one on ebay in an attempt to recoup some of my investment. So far no bids but a handful of watchers, I might be out my investment money but that happens. My question to you experts is how does a person research an insulator that has no markings or embossing on it? It stands about 3 3/8†tall and has about a 2 1/4†diameter at its base. Do you guys know any thing about this one? Thank you kindly

i think that's a cd-102 pennycuick, you can tell pennycuicks apart from other insulators because they're sometimes a bit heavier/bulkier and have a little drip at the top of the threads.

uhhh, the book might put them at $20-$30, but i feel like it's less than that... i'd pay like, $10 for one if i liked it. Usually the 102's show up in an aqua or a blue aqua color from what i've seen, yours looks like a nice light aqua shade.

Find any other interestin' insulators? any old porcelain?

Thanks for that site Jim!!!

Thanks for the info Brains. I think mine might be a CD 126 though. That shape is just about spot on to the one I have.
I did find this site that has a picture like mine and after reading it made me think it might be one of these... quoting the site

"It is highly likely some of the very earliest insulator styles that were made (circa 1864-1868) were not marked with a manufacturer's name, and so remain currently unidentified as Bushwick products."

I don't know though. I am real new at these insulator things.

As for other insulators. I got a dozen or so total. A hand full of what I am guessing CD 101 that have a lot of white furnace brick in them (one of them is on ebay as well). A real plain jane looking white porcelain one that has no markings on it also. I could put a picture up if you want. Thanks agian guys.

I agree with Brains there. It looks like a Pennycuick, and totally agree with that price of around ten at the most.

Just saw your other post, Ben. I doubt it's a CD 126. The profile is very similar, but a 126 is much taller and wider.

A CD 102 Pennycuick tends to be a bit bigger than the other 102s but it still falls in that CD assignment.
