Thanks, Matt. I currently have most of my bottles in two cabinets in a spare bedroom. I wish they were back-lit, but right now they're not. It's the safest place for them, due to my very active English Bulldog who runs around the house like a tank! When it's nice and sunny like it was yesterday, I love to take the bottles outside for photos, as the natural sunlight really shows the colors off well!
we've never dug a utility like those...we usually get the aqua nothing special ones. I did however dig a utility with an iron cross on the bottom. didn't find anything out about it though
nice bottles
Thanks everyone! Steve, I don't think they are quite that old, although I admit I don't really know much about the early, square, boxy snuff bottles. The glass on that one looks a lot like my unembossed Westford flasks. I would certainly be interested in any information I could get from other forum members on that one. I identify the last bottle as a CT utility primarily because the pontil mark on the base is very similar to other CT utilities I have, very round and not deep or jagged.
The Baltimore bottle is a very nice puce color that is a bit difficult to capture in the pictures. I should have taken it next to an amber bottle to highlight the difference. I'll put up a few more pics.....
