I have a old coca cola tray. And I can't decide if its original or a repop. It measures out to the same demionsons as the originalback in 1913.(10.5x13.75). But, the pat. On it is not in the swoosh on the first C. Its under it. But, no where on the back does it have a repop date or anything saying its for memorabilia use only. It has me stumped I dont know. Please help.

If I remember right dates can be found on the rolled edge of the tray , been a long time since I have handled any of them so I am not sure if that is exactly right or not . I am sure someone will chime in later that knows more about them .

I'm not for sure how to put picture's on here through my phone, and yes I've heard that the repop date is on the rolled edge. But I bought one the other day and you can see it plan as day on the rolled lip. But the trade mark is not inside the first C

In the early 20th century the metal would be much thicker than the repros of later. How's it feel? Solid or sort of flimsy.

cool, sounding also like it is one of the older ones, does look like of the older heavy duty ones. rough looking for sure if there is or was a repro date on it then it might be under some of that rust, that reg which is under i think puts it somewhere in the 50's or sixties.Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me (which ain't that much) will pop in and say more. but you got my two cents worth :)chris

But I think if it had a reproduction date it would be on the rolled edge like L C said, and theres no rust on that part so im not for sure .

Yours is a reproduction. The original has "Trade-Mark Registered" in the tail of the first "C".Yours says "Reg. US Pat. Off." underneath and centered under the complete logo. This phrase was used in this way from 1941-1962 when it changed to "Trade-mark" with the circled "R" which is still used today. Your tray was reproduced around 1973 when there was a special promotion selling reproduced trays. This promo started the reproduction craze that continues today, some authorized repros, some not.Terry
