Miztx, many collectors highlight the embossing to make it stand out as Carobran stated. They usually use whiteout or some other water soluble highlighting method. I do not do that myself, it was this way when I bought it. Some people also 'color' the pictures on the druggists bottles - an Aspen, Colorado drug with a lamb is shown earlier in this thread.
Hello, I have not posted on the forum for quite a while. I have been working away from home so much that I think my kids may be forgetting what I look like! I did not even stick a shovel in the ground this year. First time since I was 11 years old when I found my first dump. Also, never made it to a bottle show this year either; sucks!
I have added a few bottles to the collection and will post pics of them here in a few minutes.
I am still actively collecting picture druggists. If you have any please let me know!
Nice grouping Stephen . I have a large box of bottles such as this size and shape , put them up in the attic a good twenty years ago . I am pretty sure there are some pictured ones among them , but only a few I think . Most all of them are from Cincinnati . Need to get one of my boys to drag them down out of there and have a look at them .
This one is from Harrisburg, Pa. Chas. T. George Druggist Harrisburg, Pa. with a deer and monogram at left. Pic is terrible but hopefully everybody can see it.
Leavitt's Pharmacy S.E. Cor. 3rd & Elm Streets Camden, N.J. with owl on pestle & mortar. Another terrible pic but have not had the time to take a new one.
