[attachment=20140401_220338_resized_1.jpg] [attachment=20140401_220405_resized_3.jpg] [attachment=20140401_220425_resized_2.jpg] [attachment=20140401_220405_resized_3.jpg] I recently purchased this bottle. It says "covert" on one side near the neck and "bottling co" on the other side near the neck. At the base underneath "bottling co" it says "contents 7 flu ozs" and at the base underneath "covert" it says "middleport O". The bottom of the bottle says "middleport O". From what i have found "Covert Bottling Company" was located in Middleport, Ohio. I cannot find any information on this style bottle. Seeking information and a possible value. I paid $1 for the bottle, and its in great shape. Thanks

Those are called deco style soda bottles. They're usually not worth much, but it depends on the brand and town.

A dollar is a great price for any bottle! Middleport is a small town, so it's not likely to be very common, but that doesn't always mean value. Nice find!

The glass makers mark <(I)> on the base is for the Owens-Illinois Glass Company. The number to the left of the mark is the plant city location. The number to the right of the mark is the year the bottle was produced. What are those numbers? ?? <(I)> ??

"3" is on the left and "1" is on the bottom. The number on the right is not readable looks close to an eight. And i apoligize the pic of the bottom of the bottle is for another bottle. I will try to put the correct picture on later but I'm on my mobile right now

The symbol in the middle appears to be an oval with a diamond in it and inside of the diamond looks like a "1"

J Thanks - We'll look forward to the correct base picture. And if it does happen to be an Owens-Illinois bottle marked with an 8, the 8 would be for 1938 because the Owens-Illinois Company was not established until 1929. Your bottle might be a variation of this patent ...

Nice work Bob. Also it was after about 1932 when root was sold to OI and they acquired the rights. I wonder if any were made by Root?
