Hello and welcome peejrey. Are there any markings on the base? The markings may give you an idea what glass company made the bottle, but what ever was put in it could be anybodys guess. Without embossing or a label, this is just another "slick" and next to impossible to identify. The color is very common and I am not familiar with the form or shape. My guess is it was a labeled pill bottle, but I could be way off.Sorry, but there is just not much to go on unless you happen onto another just like it with a label, and even then this bottle could have been used for a variety of different contents.
That was a shape most commonly used for pills, as one commenter noted. However, it could have been used for some of the more "watery" creams or ointments too. The relatively wide mouth (relative to the body diameter) indicates pills most likely with the others a possibility. Any producer could use about any bottle for anything, as long as the product could be bottled in and extracted from the bottle.
