It looks like a 1840s ale bottle open pontel.strange foot may be a half post mold.

No bought it at an elderly mans house is there any value.

It requires a real expert to give you a close approximation of that pieces age and value. I'm not the guy. I do believe that that piece is very, very good and OLD. I suspect it was manufactured in the 1700s in either England, Holland or possibly USA. Hopefully one of our real experts will chime in. Jim

Looks big enough to qualify as a demijohn. And with that color, it could be Stoddard. I'd be tickled with it.

Looking at the base I wouldn't say earlier than 1850. It looks like the molds that could have the maker, say Dyottville around the edge but not the early Ricketts either. Is it three part mold? More detail and better pictures would help. I'm not saying yours are bad but nothing beats in hand.
