I am trying to find out what these two items were used for...im assuming the stoneware was a pitcher of some sort but i think there is another name for it...the glass item on the other hand i have no idea. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The stoneware one I think would be a sort of tea pot or something I'm really not sure, but the other is definately an amberina compote. They were sometimes used for candy containers amongst other things. Really nice piece in my favorite color.

Brian is right about the batter jug. The handle on a kettle goes in line with the spout and doesn't have a grab at the bottom.

Google up batter jug and you should get plenty of info.

Sorry, we still haven't answered you question. It was used to mix and pour flap jacks and pancakes among other more fluid batters.

Your ambernia piece is also pattern glass with the pattern being either diamond point or saw tooth. The sawtooth would feel rougher than diamond point and the
points larger. Hard to tell which from the picture.
If it is a true ambernia (old) it is made by adding gold to the batch, the red portion is a result of returning it into the oven in this case your upper part which turnes it red.
Hope I got that right.

Oh one more question about the diamond pattern. The pattern seems to have a flat point....is it still diamond "point"? You can tell if you look at the pic of the lid
