I understand the hunting season concern but when it? When is winter in your area? It sounds like New England large game time, at least for bow and black powder but that varies also.

Currently bow season, followed by black powder, followed by rifle. There may be another black powder in December.

I think he's talking about "hunting bottles". Black powder might damage the glass... DD

Really ? Where are you digging ? Here in California it is the exact opposite with city holes being dipped, recycled, clear and aqua holes. Rural towns out here have several non-dipped holes per house and tend to have more colored glass.
