Just stepped in the door coming back from the Baltimore show. Great show..but I will leave that for another thread. I picked up a vet bottle "Wigg's Whirlbone Horse Liniment Hyde Park N.Y." I had never seen it before and was just wondering if any one here knew anything about it. I will post a picture as soon as I can.

I liked the grey blue of the poison and the crooked neck, the clear one because it was $1 and the other two for some more color in my chemist collection...that and the fact they were inexpensive. The bottles were wonderful at the show... most of which I will never be able to afford but they sure are nice to look at..

The vet dictionary says Whirlbone lameness is trochanteric bursitis...basically a sore hip where the leg attaches to the hip. I had never heard of a whirlbone before.
It was great seeing you and Badger yesterday. Did y'all go home with anything?

I found out that Wigg was a blacksmith in Hyde Park, NY. After reading up on this problem I found that it tends to be a problem in horses that are pulling wagons, buggies, etc.....today it can be a problem with Standardbreds (trotting tracks) and cutting horses.
Another piece of rather useless information to clutter up my brain.
